Setting Column sizes, ordering, etc is set by installation, therefore one User logging into the same machine will always see the same layout they set on that particular machine. If that User uses multiple machines then they will need to configure the layout on each machine separately.

Yes it is but the field accepts any alphanumeric characters, so if the VAT code is not known initially a temporary code can be entered until the information is provided.

A Resource can be multiple types. If a Manufacturer is created via the Asset screen, then it will not be possible to use this resource as a Contractor or Supplier. Should a Resource be a Contractor as well as a Manufacturer, the Resource should be created via the Resource module and not the Asset Module.
